Abstract

Low-profile form factor hard disk drive (HDD) is subject to restrict of mechanical component height and critical control of those dimensions because of tight component clearances. For example, there is a case that base component has a finestra below mounting area of voice coil motor (VCM) sub-assembly.

   Low-profile form factor hard disk drive (HDD) is subject to restrict of
mechanical component height and
critical control of those dimensions because of tight component clearances.
For example, there is a
case that base component has a finestra below mounting area of voice coil
motor (VCM) sub-assembly.

    This finestra gives a space for VCM design for more functional design. In
this case, if external force
acts on the drive chassis , VCM lower yoke moves and hits a leak protection
seal. (see Figure 1-1,2,3.)
this disclose achieves an idea of preventing this problem.

    In this method, it is claimed that assembling structure of VCM design is as
follows.

 -VCM upper yoke is fixed on base assembly by screw fastening
- Lower yoke is attached by magnetism to upper yoke
(see Figure-2)

To protect the low yoke hitting the leak seal, three stopper surfaces was
added on each support of
the low yoke. These stopper surface restricts movement to z direction. (
see Figure-2. )

Three stoppers are effective to control movement distance because clearance
distance between
the low yoke and the leak seal is a tight. And more effectiveness feature
is to be designed each
