Abstract

Disclosed is the shopping point accumulation system by using e-mail and/or the Internet web site instead of using paper and stamp based method. When a customer purchases some goods at a retail shop, the uniquely generated enciphered code and the particular e-mail address is passed. The customer sends the code by e-mail to the address where the shopping point accumulation system is located. Receiving the e-mail, the shopping point accumulation system can identify sender by e-mail address and get the shopping information such as shopping amount by decoding the code. The system calculates the shopping points and accumulates them. The system can also get more detailed information by searching their POS (point of sales) database using the code as a key if necessary. The customer can always access the web site and know how much their shopping points accumulated. The customer can use the points to get their bonus by indicating their e-mail address at the shop when they want. The retail shop master can increase the rate of re-coming to the shop and increase the number of access to their web site. Also, they can investigate the tendency of shopping as individual basis for the future marketing strategy. 1
