Abstract

On portable devices it is regularly an option to open a cover that is used to protect the LCD screen. We propose the addition of a switch that turns on the device at the same time when it is opened. Actually, our laptops already have a similar feature, but it only works when in hibernation, suspend, or on mode. It does not start to power from "off-state" when the cover is opened. If the cover is closed before the operating system begins to load, the system should automatically shut off. 1
