This mechanism enables two materials x and y to be screwed or bolted together, but then can be pushed apart or pulled back together.

The Bolt/Screw

    The two parts are similarly threaded externally, and the outer casing 'B' is free to rotate around part 'A'.

    By screwing 'A' and 'B' together until joints are matched (materials and bolt), the materials are locked together.

    By holding 'A' fixed and rotating 'B' the materials part, the precision of gap is a function of thread size and angle of turn, this enabling a high degree of control.

The Screw Driver System

    Two parts are used, handle 1 ('h1') and handle 2 ('h2a' and 'h2b)) by interlocking H1 with H1 both parts of the bolt can turn by using holding A still with H2 and rotating H1 the bolt then expands the sections.
