    The invention described herein is a method by which PCI (cards are retained
into a metal chassis. The problem to be solved is one of retaining a PCI card
with its bracket into a sheet metal housing containing the motherboard, planar,
or riser card onto which the PCI card is attached via a connector edge to the
cards. This problem has been around since the advent of auxiliary
daughter cards and their introduction into the PC or Server. What is new is
the requirement of limiting space making the problem to solve into one of
retaining the PCI cards while taking up the least amount of space. To be sure
the solution needs to be done in the most user friendly manner with the least
amount of manufacturing cost. Specifically this invention has been developed
for a Server of 1U height, leaving the maximum amount of airflow through the
sheet metal chassis around the PCI card. Being self retained to the chassis
with a minimum number of parts. Being self pivoting, to allow for insertion of
the PCI card bracket and the usability being self evident.

The invention achieves an advantage by being self pivoting, self retained,
cost efficient and self evident to use. The invention is of a sheet metal
bracket in which the final fold is done in place onto the receiving bracket.
This final fold allows for the self retaining feature. The first
picture,(see turqpcio.jpg), shows the PCI card in a chassis housing being
slide into place into the back of the chassis and onto a shelf that has been
bent out from the chassis. The shelf positions the PCI bracket to its final
