Abstract

A program is disclosed that enhances the B2B approval process for transactions.. Within business to business transactions one of the key steps is to get approvals for the transactions to proceed. If we look at a b2b gateway such as IBM WebSphere's Partner Agreement Manager-offering, we see that approvals are implemented by sending an email to a list of approvers. This email contains a hyperlink to a web page through which approval is manually approved. This clearly assumes that the person is sitting at their terminal to approve the business. This idea is to provide transaction approvals via telephone using speech recognition and text to speech technologies. Instead of sending out an email we could phone round to find the approver using DirectTalk* (IBM** product). The approval request could be spoken to them via Text to speech technologies and their approval granted via speech recognition. Some speaker identification process would clearly be necessary.
