Abstract

Disclosed is a method to provide the dynamic site navigation by web access log. The method which provides the dynamic site navigation in web pages is based on the navigation menus generated by JSP custom tag accessing a web access logs in a web server. The typical navigation menus in web pages are static or could be changed by the profiles of site visitors. In this manner, the web site can not provide the appropriate page navigation for site visitors or it cost too much to set up the personalized menus and it won't be effective to who visits the site first time.

Disclosed is a method to provide the dynamic site navigation by web access log.

The method which provides the dynamic site navigation in web pages is based on the navigation menus generated by JSP custom tag accessing a web access logs in a web server.

The typical navigation menus in web pages are static or could be changed by the profiles of site visitors.

In this manner, the web site can not provide the appropriate page navigation for site visitors or it cost too much to set up the personalized menus and it won't be effective to who visits the site first time.

To solve the above issues, this disclosed method uses a web access log of web server which contains the information such as accessed pages with time stamp or where site visitors are coming from , etc.

By aggregating and analyzing the access logs, it will be apparent that which pages are popular or not popular, or which pages are popular in some specific date and time. By using this statistic data, the better navigation menus could be provided in web pages for site visitors and also for site owners. ("Better navigation menu" means that the links to popular pages are brought to the top of the menu and less popular pages are shift down.)
