Abstract

Disclosed is a technique of ESD grounding for operators working in cleanroom or air conditioned area (low humidity controlled area) at Heads and Hard Disk Drives manufacturing process. There are a lot of operators, especially in South Asian countries, whose skin are very dry and cannot make enough ESD grounding by existing grounding method such a wrist strap cable. The conventional wrist strap is tied at wrist or arm, but both area are not so moist for "dry skin" operators. That's why ESD grounding is floating for some dry skin operators. This is very critical for Head and Hard Disk Drive manufacturing to make many ESD damages on head or other ESD sensitive components. The new ESD grounding uses new grounding wire, called finger strap, which is put on the base of finger or palm where can be most moist area due to many perspiration during operators manufacturing operation. (This is based on medical doctor's investigation.) Moisture by sweat makes good connection between human body and ESD grounding.

One ESD ground cable is put on each hand (same as above picture) or two wires are put on same hand. ESD cable can be wiring on palm or back according to the operation.
