Abstract

In a telecommunication product the data such as ATM cells or switch packets are transmitted from one point to another over three kinds of signals: a data bus (or a serial data link), a companion clock and a delimiter signal. This delimiter signal is usually called Start Of Frame (SOF) or Start Of Packet (SOP). With this invention the delimiter signal is carried by the data signal without degrading the performance.
