ALERT SYSTEM USING LOTUS NOTES PAGER GATEWAY

The Alert System interfaces any third party alarm system to Lotus Domino Server by creating Lotus Notes documents for each alarm that changes from "normal". Lotus Notes Agents file and categorize the "alert documents" in appropriate Lotus Notes databases based on alert status. In addition, parameters can be set up to auto page using the Lotus Notes Pager Gateway product to page appropriate maintenance personnel as needed for a response to a specific problem. Maintenance and/or response personnel use alpha-numeric pager receivers to display the alarm content. Notes mail depicting the alert can be "Notes Mailed" to management if applicable.

The invention allows the Lotus Notes product to be used in near real time application for almost immediate response to alert conditions. Also all alerts can be tracked historically in Lotus Notes databases. This feature allows maintenance and management personnel to identify production/process tool/system malfunctions and abnormalities over time.

Other alarm systems to paging systems exist, however none use the power of Lotus Notes for the tracking of alarms, hence used for maintenance and troubleshooting activity. From any Lotus Notes client, alarms can be viewed and accessed.
