Abstract

With the WAP 1.1 (Wireless Application Protocol) standard it is possible to provide WML (Wireless Markup Language) based applications on a web server to mobile phones. By using the Internet Access Proxy solution WML based application is provided to PBX (Private Branch Exchange) phones without any adaptations. The user is able to access the application either from his mobile phone or from his PBX phone. An existing solution communicates with the PBX phone user via button inputs from the user and dis- play prompting from the Internet Access Proxy to the PBX phone.

To make the conversation between the user and theInternet Access Proxy respectively the WML appli-cation on the web server more effective, a voice en-abled control for navigation and input can be pro-vided to the PBX phone user. The display promptingon the PBX phone remains.

Towards the communication system the Internet Ac-cess Proxy communicates via the CTI link (ComputerTelephony Integration) running for example StandardECMA 269 or CSTA Phase III protocol to control theconnected phones of the PBX for the text output on
