Idee: Miguel de Vega Rodrigo, München

People suffering from a heart attack need immedi-ately help to protect their health no matter where theyare. Up to now this persons are dependent on otherpeople who give or ask for help.

The idea is that a portable system automaticallyrecognizes heart attacks and the symptoms beforeand then informs an emergency service provider.

It is realized through a portable electrocardiograph(ECG) which is connected to a mobile phone. On theone hand this system will be able to warn the userwhenever the ECG shows that there might be a pos-sible danger of a heart attack and on the other handwill inform an emergency service provider like anambulance service or hospital. This notificationincludes all informations which are necessary for thiscase like the position of the patient, his medicalrecords and the current conditions of the patient. Theemergency service provider may send help instruc-tions regarding first aid in text messages appearingon the screen of the mobile phone for persons thatmight be near the patient.

Figure 1 shows a functioning scheme of the HeartAttack Emergency Call System.
