Background

         Conventionally, barcode scanning can require several attempts for successful scanning. The cause can be the poor skill and unsteady hands of users. Set up and scanning can required a high amount of assist time, which results in lowered productivity.

         Users conventionally use their thumb and forefinger to shade the unwanted barcode label and open the barcode fixture for the required label. However, this approach is not effective for all requirements, such as when the slots between barcode labels are very fine (see Figure 1).

         The disclosed method is an error-free barcode scanning fixture. The method includes a built-in sliding plate. The fixture can be made of any type of material.
