Abstract

The idea is that consumers use a private butler service. The private butler holds - to the extend the individual user allows - private and business relevant data and thus is enabled to conduct transactions in behalf of the consumer. The area of transaction can range from pure information gathering over commercial transaction and even up to social or individual needs - those are different trust levels. The private butler accompanies in optimum a person its entire life time and is able to learn and adapt personal patterns. This only is possible if the private butler enhances continuously the level of trust the consumer is willing to anticipate (e-trust concept).

Private Butler

Problem Statement

Many portal owners tried to extend their business and collate individual consumer info, thus through business intelligence support consumer spending. The problem is that consumers don't disclose those date due to data privacy concerns.

Thereupon, prior art approaches do not enable to conduct private and/or commercial interactions or transactions on a trust level acceptable by a user and/or the one or more transaction participants being involved in an underlying transaction.

Solution

The idea is that consumers use a private butler service. The private butler holds - to the extend the individual user allows - private and business relevant data and thus is enabled to conduct transactions in behalf of the consumer. The area of transaction can range from pure information gathering over commercial transaction and even up to social or individual needs - those are different trust levels. The private butler accompanies in optimum a person its entire life time and is able to learn and adapt personal patterns. This only is possible if the private butler enhances continuously the level of trust the consumer is willing to anticipate (e-trust concept).

Thus the business partners of a portal owner or other intermediary will be ensured that the private butler is representing a real individual with valid needs and patterns. This is highly attractive to any sort of partner with different service or product offerings: the partner is enabled to attract the consumer at the point of time needed with an offering needed.

The private butler can work actively (searching by himself - agent mode) or reactively (bill board mode) to match offerings with the current needs.

The portal owner would receive a finders fee on the transaction of the partner. The business partner would not have access to the personal information, just to the depersonalized information.

Advantage for the portal owner is that it retains full ownership of consumer business intelligence and personal date won't be shared with its business partner. The business partner will be dependant upon the portal owner for sales leads with high quality.

Advantage for the single user that he won't disclose private information apart to his / her private butler and no connection can be made between the data and his / her identity.

Advantage to the partners of the portal owner is that they get personalized information of a not reached quality for marketing and/or other purposes. The lack of not knowing the real identity of the person behind the private butler is no real disadvantage compared to the advantages received by the partnership to the portal. The key of this publication is to link individual behavior, patterns, needs and wants of a person with the business concept of anonymous buying. This is prevented by the natural resistance of individuals to disclose private data to any merchant or service provider who follows commercial interests. A private butler service can...
