Hazardous Material Spill Containment Trailer

A spill that leaves the trailer poses risks to people, property and the environment. These spills can be very costly to remediate.

Many hazardous materials, both liquids and solids, are transported on highways each day. During the loading and unloading process, the risk of compromising the container exists. Most times the hazardous material does not have any type of secondary containment and can easily spill from the container, into the trailer and into the environment. Individual secondary containment skids are available, but are typically not used because they are expensive, take up a significant amount of space in the trailer, and often times cannot easily accommodate a skid.

This invention is a trailer that has a built-in catch pan to contain any spills. This pan is located below the trailer floor. It works by permitting the material to drain from the trailer floor into secondary containment within the trailer bed.
