Method for a retractable safety barricade pole

Disclosed is a method for a retractable safety barricade pole. Benefits include improved reliability, improved user experience, and improved environment.

Background

The conventional barricade pole is easy to use but is typically damaged due to removal of the pole cover (see Figure 1). A lack of chain retractability results in poor housekeeping and the incapability to meet safety standards (see Figure 2). These problems are conventionally solved by the eventual replacement of the pole.

Description

The disclosed method is a safety barricade pole with easy chain retraction and storage. Hooks enable the chain to be secured so that it maintains a minimum height of one foot from the floor and meets minimum safety requirements (see Figure 3). The design enables the extension and retraction of the chain from the pole without removing the pole cover, which prevents damage. When not in use, the chain is stored inside the pole.

The key elements of the method include:

•         Square hole that is large enough to enable the chain to be extended and retracted (see Figure 4)

•         Socket head screw that centers and balances the chain in the pole (see Figure 5)

•         One hook for stopping the extension of the chain from the interior of the pole (see Figure 6)

•         One hook for connecting a chain from another pole

•         Two self-tapping screws that secures the pole’s cover

•         Locking of the chain to the base of the pole to prevent the chain from being pu...
