Abstract

This invention was developed for the SAT-A60/B60 digital satellite receiving box. The invention has the ability to notify the user that a favorite program is about to begin by paging the user. To set up the notification system, the user first accesses the preferences menu. Once in the preferences menu, the user selects the Profiles sub-menu. In the Profiles sub-menu, the user selects the specific profile that will receive the notification. After selecting the correct profile, the specific profile page opens, with the user selecting the "Enter Notification Preferences" option. Once this option is selected, the user can then designate the kind of notification (on-screen, e-mail, page) and when the notification is to be sent. The user will be able to change the phone number of the pager or the e-mail address that will receive the notification, as well as the kind of information that is to be included in the paging message or e-mail.

This text was extracted from a Microsoft Word document.
