Abstract

The development of a computer application is based on particular technologies and a particular platform. Disparate applications running in different platforms and developed using different technologies can not be combined with each other. Up to now, this problem was solved by using point to point integration. The main disadvantage is that every integration is unique and has to be done for every application B that interfaces with the application A. Also if there is a change in application A, all applications that refer to that application need to be changed.

It is proposed to provide a set of software libraries, software components and guidelines that are platform, application and technology independent, and that allow application to talk together. By defining a standard abstract interface (API) applications are allowed to be replaced and exchanged. An unified transparent application monitoring and application administration is also provided.

Thus the integration of applications only need to be performed ones.
