Abstract:

This invention is an adapter that provides access to a cell phone network from a consumers existing telephone wiring and existing telephones.

Description:

Owning a cell phone often means two telephone bills, one from the cell phone provider and one from the land line provider. Government mandated telephone bill surcharges are then paid twice because the consumer receives two separate telephone bills. It would benefit the consumer to receive one bill for multiple phones that included cell phone usage.

This invention is an adapter that allows the existing telephones within a consumer’s home to use a cell phone network. The land line connection is not used and all telephone service is provided through the cellular telephone network. The device may also include a display to indicate antenna signal strength or other useful information.

This invention should be developed as a means to allow the customer to consolidate their phone service through their wireless provider.

This invention could also be packaged into other products that connect to the telephone wiring in the home. The antenna may not be mounted directly on the device so it can be placed outside the home or in a location that gets good reception.
