Background

Currently, laptop users carry all necessary cables with them when traveling or moving their laptop to another location. These cables can become cumbersome when packing, unpacking, and using the laptop.

General Description

The disclosed method integrates spooled, retractable CAT-5 and/or CAT-3 cables into a desktop or laptop computer, such as an Ethernet cable or a Public Switching Telephone Network modem. The retractable cables are integrated so that the user simply pulls the cable directly from the back of the computer to plug into the network (see Figure 1). This eliminates the need for additional cables, and also reduces clutter.
