A process for on-site recovery of spent electrostatographic
carrier materials, Spent developer is first placed in a
toner blow-off unit where non-impacted toner material is
removed in an air stream, The developer is then placed on
a fine wire mesh screen in a wash unit in which the
developer comes into contact with a stream of liquid that
is a solvent for the toner material and a non-solvent for

the carrier material, Preferably, the solvent is non-
flaimnable, non-explosive, and non-toxic. The dissolved
toner material then is passed through a filter unit where
colorants such as carbon black are removed, The solvent
containing dissolved polymer is then passed to a solvent
holding unit from which it may then be recycled. The
carrier material is then removed from the wash unit and may
be dried under ambient conditions, The carrier material can

then be mixed with toner material and placed back into the

development chamber of an electrostatographic machine,
