cassette into the toner dispensing mechanism 12 of the
development system (not shown) A rotary shutter or gate

13 is held closed by a torsion spring 14, When the
cassette 10 is mounted over the toner dispenser 12 the
gate lever 15 is rotated by the operator to move the gate
13 so as to uncover the opening 11 in the bottom of the
cassette, The gate is restrained in this open position
by a latch spring 16 acting upon the gate lever, When
the cassette is removed by lifting in the direction of

arrow 17, the torsion spring 14 forces the gate 13 to close
off the opening 11,
