Abstract

A paper supply 10 advances copy paper 12 under liquid jets 14. Liquid jets 14 apply a polar solvent to sheet 12 in an image configuration. Digital control system 16 regulates the actuation of ink jets 14 in an image configuration. Thereafter, the polar solvent discharged by a corona generating device forms a voltage potential between the image and background areas. This charge pattern is then developed with liquid ink by development system 18, The liquid ink is then permanently affixed to the copy sheet by roll fusers 20. Finally, cutting system 22 separates the copy sheet from the paper supply.
