Abstract

In a corona generator 1 having a high voltage biased corona wire 2 generating a corona charge for a closely spaced xerographic photoreceptor drum 4, sparking may occur from the corona wire 2 to the edges of the drum 4. This can be restricted by covering the end portions of the wire 2, outside the desired charging area of the drum 4, with insulative plastic tubing 3. This tubing may be threaded onto the wire 2 when the wire is mounted in the corona generator 1 and then slid along the wire 2 into the potential arcing areas over the drum edges.
