Abstract

In a development system of the type shown, developer contained in a sump 9 at the bottom of a developer housing 10 is conveyed by a bucket type conveyor 11 upwardly and released onto an inclined development electrode or chute l2~ The chute 12 extends downwardly in a direction parallel to but spaced apart from a photoreceptor surface 5 and forms therebetween a development zones Electrostatic latent images or charge patterns on the surface 5 are developed as they pass through this development zone~

development zones Electrostatic latent images or
charge patterns on the surface 5 are developed as
they pass through this development zone~

The length of the development zone A may be extended
by providing a rotatably magnetic roller 20 near the
apex of the conveyor 11 which operates to lift the
cascading developer higher into the development zone,
An additional length B of developer zone is thereby
created resulting in increased development efficiency~
