Abstract

A toner reclaim mechanism 1 is arranged between the sump 2 of a cleaning system of a reproducing machine and a toner sump 3 of the development system for the machine. The toner is conveyed in a tube 4 which slides inside a pro~ tective outer guide tube 5. The conveying tube 4 is split and has a bead 6 along each free edge. The outer tube 5 serves to guide the inner-tube and has a slot 7 along its length as shown in Figure 2. In the regions where toner is to be added to the tube or emptied therefrom, the slot is widened as at 8, The narrow slot serves to clamp the beads

A device such as mandrel 9 is employed in association with
the wider slot 8 in order to spread apart the beads of the
conveying tube to allow access to the inside of the tube
for filling or emptying, The conveyance tube 4 is driven
by means of wheels 10.

the conveying tube 4 can comprise a split flexible plastic
tube with the free edges of the tube arranged in a zipper-
