Polymer coated electrostatographic carrier particles having
improved properties may be obtained by coating carrier cores
employing liquid phase encapsulation techniques. Carrier
cores are agitated in a solution of the coating polymer and
the polymer made to phase separate by the aforementioned
techniques. As the polymer phase separates, it encapsulates
and coats the carrier cores providing coated carrier
particles. The coated carrier particles are washed and
dried to remove all traces of solvent whereupon they are
ready for use,
