elongated slot 12, the width of which is substantially equal
to the diameter of the spindle. The elongated slot is
adapted to allow the spindle to be completely inserted with~
in the indexing device. The lower portion of the indexing
device includes an area 17 used for holding the device.

The upper surface 18 of the indexing device includes a
plurality of arrowhead indicia 19 which indicates the lo-~
cation of each of the bands on the record by each arrow-P
head pointing to a different band. Indicia 21 in juxtaposed
relation to the arrowhead indicia indicates the subject
matter recorded within each of the bands, In use, the
arrowhead indicia indicates to the user the location of
each of the bands when the elongated slot 12 on the top
portion of the device fully engages spindle 13. The upper
surface of the indexing device can also include indicia
