Abstract

This concept relates to xerographic photoconductive matrix material into which is incorporated a release agent such as silicone or a fluorocarbon, Under normal operating conditions, the impregnated material is continuously exposed at the surface and subjected to a wiping contact to assure adequate coating of the entire surface to facilitate toner transfer and cleaning. The rate of re- lease of the material ultimately depends upon its concen~ tration in the matrix and the rate of abrasion or wearing down of the matrix surface. The relative softness or spreading of the release agent also depends upon its sensitivity to operating temperatures,
