Abstract

Electrostatographic toner impacted carrier particles may be rejuvenated while in use in a copying machine as to improve developer life, ~n abrasive member which may be stationary, rotates continuously, or rotates on command is placed in the developer housing as to make contact with the carrier particles and thereby remove impacted toner material there~ from, alternatively, the abrasive member may be located in a separate or remote carrier bead cleaning station to which the carrier particles are fed continuously or on command with return of the cleaned carrier particles to the developer housing.
