Abstract

A flies-eye lens arrangement is used in combination with a specially constructed three-color filter to achieve full color reproduction of an original. Light reflected from multicolored object 1 passes through read-in lens 2 and filter arrangement 3 before impinging flies-eye lens panel 4. Panel 4 separates the light from read-in lens 2 into discrete portions which then pass through transparent support 5 and transparent conductive layer 9 to strike photoreceptor 6.

A field is established between the conductive mirrored
surface 7 of deformable elastomer 8 and transparent conduc-
tive coating 9. Coating 9 and surface 7 are connected through
D.C. power source 10.

When light reflected from object 1 strikes photoreceptor 6,
the strength of the field across deformable elastomer layer
8 is increased in the light-struck areas, causing a corres-
ponding wrinkling or deformation of mirrored surface 7.

Filter arrangement 3, which is shown in greater detail in
Fig. 2, comprises parallel yellow filter strips running
