Abstract

In typing systems wherein a daisy wheel print element is positioned by a servo system, the horizontal positioning of the type face on the character slug is subject to inherent inaccuracies. More accurate positioning is attained by locating a guide tine at the outermost portion of the character slug of each spoke of the daisy wheel. The tine would serve as a male guide which would enter a mating slot located, for example, on the card guide scale, thereby assuring accurate positioning of the type face.
