A fusing system in an electrophotographic printing machine
employs a belt 10 for supporting a sheet of copy paper
with toner particles thereon in image configuration. Fuser
belt 10 advances the copy sheet through the fusing device

so that the heat therefrom permanently affixes the toner
powder image to the sheet of support material. A therm~
ister probe 12 mounted on a phenolic lever 14 detects the
temperature of fuser belt 10 and automatically inactivates

the printing machine when an over temperature condition
is sensed, A suitable wheatsone bridge arrangement may
be employed as a control circuit with probe 12 being in
one leg of the bridge.
