Abstract

Disclosed herein is a safety paper which protects against alteration of a xerographic image. The paper can be used in electrostatographic copying machines such as the Xerox 1200 which will be used for the generation of images on checks and important documents • The paper is produced by printing the paper with a dye system that is soluble in co~n toner solvents • Since aromatic solvents and halogenated hydrocarbons are good solvents for toner, a wide range of dyes can be selected for this application. Any attempt to alter the toner image by the technique of applying a toner solvent to the paper will result in discoloration of the affected area.
