A reproducing machine is provided. It includes an imaging
drum 1 for transferring an image to a copy sheet S fed to it by
sheet transport 2, and registration rolls 3. Sheet transport
4 strips the sheet from the imaging surface and forwards it
into rolls 5. A deflection finger 6 is provided downstream of
the roll 5.

If one-~sided copying is desired, the deflection finger 6 is
positioned out of the path of a sheet which then exits via the
transport 7.

If two~sidedcopying is desired, then the deflection finger 6
is pivoted into the path of the sheet to deflect it onto guide
8. The sheet is then forwarded by the return transport 9 to a
duplex tray 10 which is arranged to be pivoted about pin 11.

Each sheet with the first side imaged is fed into the duplex

tray 10 which is positioned as shown in solid lines. There-
fore, the imaged side of each sheet faces the long side of the
tray 10. After all the sheets have been copied on the first
side and received in the duplex tray, the tray is pivoted
about pin 11 to the position shown in phantom lines. The
sheets are then fed by a conventional separator 12 to the
input transport 2, the registration rolls 3 and imaging drum
in the same manner as described above to form the...
