A copy set collecting apparatus 10 for copy sheet materials received in succession at a sheet receiving station. A belt conveyor 12 moves up and down by an elevator 14 driven by a motor 15 in response to a height sensing device 16 and also moves incrementally in reciprocating fashion when driven by motor 18 to distinguish copy sets- Motor 18 then advances the belt conveyor distance W to effect multiple stacking of sheet material S on the belt Oonveyor,
