A FLASH EVEPORATION-TYPE CRUCIBLE FOR USE AS A NON-FRACTIONAL OF LOW MELT PHOTOCONDUCTIVE ALLOYS

A crucible for flash evaporation of melted photoconductive alloys is disclosed. In accordance with the drawing in Figure 1, a main crucible is disclosed. Also disclosed in Figure 1 is an atmospheric pressure port (1),, a fill port with cap (2) and slots (5).

Figure 1A shows a cross-sectional schematic of Figure 1 showing selenium vapors (4) coming from the crucible and evap-crating onto subitrate (3). Also shown within the crucible is selenium (6) in shot form.

Figure 1B shows slots (5), i.e., openings, in the bottom of the main crucible. The width of slots (5) should be smaller than the diameter.

Gigure 2 shows a low voltage torminal (7), water colled and heated portion used for valving (8), fill port with cap (9), flash crucible (10), inert gas regulator (11) and retort (12) filled with selenium.
