Abstract

A magnetic cleaning system utilizing a transport belt is dis-closed, Partially toned carrier is transported through a cleaning zone by a magnetic brush cleaner comprising a non-magnetic belt having stationary multiple bar magnets aligned parallel to each other and to the axis of the photoreceptor being cleaned, The aligned bar magnets are positioned on the underside of the non-magnetic belt, that is, underneath the belt so that the magnetic field extends into the area between the cleaner belt and the photoreceptor surface.

A magnetic cleaning system utilizing a transport belt is dis~
closed, Partially toned carrier is transported through a
cleaning zone by a magnetic brush cleaner comprising a non~
magnetic belt having stationary multiple bar magnets aligned
parallel to each other and to the axis of the photoreceptor
being cleaned, The aligned bar magnets are positioned on the
underside of the non-~magnetic belt, that is, underneath the
belt so that the magnetic field extends into the area between
the cleaner belt and the photoreceptor surface.

A toner acceptor belt adjacent the magnetic brush cleaner belt
and parallel thereto advances in the same direction as the
magnetic brush cleaner belt, Toner cleaned from the photo~
receptor surface by carrier circulated in the form of a
magnetic brush around the magnetic brush cleaner belt is
transferred to the toner acceptor belt at an area of the
magnetic brush cleaner belt outside the zone or gap between
the photoreceptor surface and the magnetic brush cleaner belt,
