Abstract

In a color electrophotographic printing machine, successive layers of toner particles are transferred from electrostatic latent images to a copy sheet in super-imposed registration with one another. The sequence of transfer is such that each successive layer of tiner particles transferred to the new support material have the lesser triboelectric charge thereon than the preceding layer transferred thereto. This minimizes the latent images. For example, the first layer of toner particles 78 transferred to sheet 34 may be yellow, the second transferred layer 80, cyan, will have a lesser triboelectric chrge than layer 78. Similarly, the thrid layer 82, magenta, will have a triboelectric charge which is less than layer 78 as 80.
