Useful life of electrostatographic developer materials may be
extended by use of a booster toner or a series of booster
toners, The booster toner has triboelectric properties which
enables it to charge against both fresh carrier material or

carrier material impacted with toner particles. As the devel-
oper ages, booster toners of increased chargeability are added
to the developer mixture, Such a booster toner is advan-
tageously used when the background areas of a developed image
exceed acceptable levels.
