Abstract

A corona generator 10 is used to charge a photoreceptor in a xerographic reproduction machine. By using adjustable side shields 12, the current profile along the corona wire 14 can be varied so that the wire to photoreceptor current can be varied across the width of the photoreceptor. As shown in the drawing, current directed to the photoreceptor would be greater at the edges of the photoreceptor than in the middle.
