Abstract

The electrical character of insulating carrier coating mate-rial may be modified by incorporating therein a conductive dye. The presence of a conductive dye such as Safranine Bluish 6B (3-amino-7dimethylamino-5-pheny1phenaziniumchlor-ide) provides carrier particles having coatings with increased conductivity which reduces carrier bead carryover, bead sticking, and provides better developer flow characteristics and transport properties.
