Abstract

Sheet stacking apparatus 14 to control accurately registration of incoming sheets S against a stop member 40 with minimal buckling. A belt 32 encircling rollers 12 and 34 moves the sheet S against stop member 40 which is formed with a slot to enable passage of the belt along its path. Roller 12 posi-tioned on top of the stack of sheets is supported by links 16 and 18 pivotable on axes 22 and 26 relative to frame F. A counterweight 30 controls the tension on belt member 32 to insure smooth stacking of sheets S.
