Abstract

There is disclosed a method for treating a paper sheet comprising a mat of paper-making fibers having a uniform surface coating of starch or modified starch in order to improve the performance of the paper in the formation of a xerographic reproductions In operation, the surface of the paper is subjected to a high voltage, direct current corona discharge such as, for example, from a corotron wire, a corotron device or an array of closely spaced, sharp corona emitting points- Either polarity of direct current may be emp1oyed- This treatment of the paper has been found to enhance the adhesion of xerographic toner material thereto.
