Abstract

A flexible web electrode is provided by coating a suitable substrate with polystyrene sulfonic acid which provides a conductive coating on the web, An improved structure is provided wherein a small amount of fumed hydrophobic silica is added together with the polystyrene sulfonic acid, In one example, a coating is produced from a solution of n-propyl alcohol, containing 1 percent fumed silica and 10 percent polystyrene sulfonic acid, The mixture is ball milled and coated from solution onto the appropriate surface such as polypropylene film,
