For registering sheets being stacked in a tray 1 in corner registration against side and end stops 2, 3, a nudger device 4 is mounted at the registration corner. The device includes a reciprocating finger 5 arranged across the corner at an angle of

about 45°and the tip of which traces a substantially elliptical path P. This permits a sheet S entering the tray to be directed under the finger 5 while the latter is raised and then be dragged into the registration corner as the finger tip descends

and moves towards the corner. The drive arrangement for the finger includes a crank 6 and a pivot 7, which the latter is spring mounted to accommodate the varying stack height.
