Abstract

In Figure 5, the copy sheets from the output transport 8 of a copier/duplicator are directed onto an indexing tray 10 which has a holddown roll 12 thereon. A flogger-jogger 14 aligns the edges of the sheets in accordance with the position of the indexing tray 10, Sets of sheets are then stapled by stapler 16 and guided out of the finishing station by feedout roll 18, Figures 1 4 show the finishing of three sets of a document having three pages each. The three copies of sheet 1 are shown as IA, 18 and IC. The copies of the other two sheets are similarly shown. These sheets are aligned as shown in Figure 1 by the cooperative action of the flogger-jogger 14 and the indexing tray 10. While the holddown roller 12 engages the bottom portions of sets B and C, the top portions of set A are stapled and fed out as shown in Figure 4.
