Abstract

A phase lock loop module (3) is provided to monitor the basic cycling of a host system (5). While the system (5) is running, the phase lock loop module (3) is periodically corrected to conform to the host system (5). If the system (5) speed varies too greatly from the basic phase lock loop module (3) frequency, a malfunction is indicated and an interrupt is provided.
