Abstract

the indexing mechanism will be damaged or the motor will stall or the magnetic clutch will slip when the gate passes beyond the home-bin position and gets blocked. An additional safety device to prevent damage of the sorter motor and/or the indexing mechansim by interrupting main drive power is shown in the drawing. It takes the form of a mechanical fuse 1 which is broken by a safety actuator 2 on the gate.
