Abstract

This disclosure relates to a flash fuser 10 for fixing toner images 12 electro-statically adhered to a copy substrate 14. The fuser 10 comprises a flash lamp 16 supported internally of a cavity 18. One problem in flash fuser cavity designs has been the drop of energy delivered near the ends of the cavity. This fall off has been associated with holes in the cavity ends necessary for cavity cooling. Accordingly, the cavity 18 is provided with louvers 20 designed to provide the necessary cooling while minimizing the aforementioned losses.
